Australasian Live Your Day PML Blog Hop

Welcome to the National Papercrafting Month Live Your Day Blog Hop.If you came from Maz Wood Inky Fingers you are in the right place. If you just joined us hop on and follow the links at the end of the post.

WEEEEEeeeeee!!!!! I am cruising!  Literally! By now I have stopped in Vila, Port Denarau and Suva, and am on my way to Mystery Island and Mare. However, in my excitement and prep I did manage to get just this much done in my planner with my Live your day PML cards. I am not about to miss out on National Papercrafting Month!

Live your Day PLM cards are the perfect complement to scrapbook layouts, pocket scrapbooking and of course our lovely new planner! I have mine in use already and had got this all ready before I took off on holidays. It is now ready for awesome pics and notes when I get home:) Of course these pages feature my E-ticket since I prepped them before I left! I have also prepped my card into pockets ready for contributions from my second week. I will complete these pages on my return – I intend to play with colouring books, watercolour and watercolour papers for the trip…the planner is not coming – but if I were on a longer, less itinersied trip (like the one I did in mexico 2014) I would take it.

I have hinged the PML card top my Crush page with Washi Tape which will allow me to add departure reflections and photos on the page. I have already noted which port we are in each day so I can include selfies or happy snaps on my return.

Note I keep my pages cards and tape right by the journal ready for use! I also have the stamper and an ink pad handy:)

Australasian Blog Hop SOTM 1601Beloved Bouquet

Happy New year to you!

AUNZ blog hop

I am so gloriously glad to be back at my blog! I hope you had an awesome Christmas and brought the New Year in safely. I have been tidying my craft space in preparation for a very creative 2016! (Yep I am dreaming BIG)  I do apologise for my absence and hope to get all the way through the year this year! I love doing it, but for a while there life got in the way. (More about that in another post!)

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s January Stamp of the Month.1601 Beloved Bouquet. This stamp set is one of our base and shade stamps, giving you a fabulous two steps to stamp using one or two coordinating colours. I needed some flowers for this page and this stamp set was a perfect fit for the job.

S1601 Beloved Bouquet available from

S1601 Beloved Bouquet Stamp of the Month Available in January only for $27 or just $7.50 with a $75 order.

I stamped one of the bases of the large flowers in Pixie, then stamped the outline in Hollyhock and also Canary then Saffron. For the smaller flowers I actually used just the one ink with second generation stamping. To do this you ink up the base stamp in darker value ink of your selected colour -in my case Hollyhock or Saffron – stamp it off on a piece of scrap – then stamp the image. This second generation stamping reduces the intensity of colour giving you a nice soft shade. Next ink up the shade (lined) section of the stamp in the same colour and stamp over your base image. This strong darker value colour will sit beautifully on top of your second generation shade colour.

What is tricky about this stamp set? The hardest thing is to line up both stamp images perfectly. Look for a feature on the stamp such as the top or bottom center. Make sure you put the stamp on your block with this lined up on the line and center of your block. (Our blocks have a lovely line for lining things up!) When you place the second stamp on the bock keep it in the same direction and place as you put the first so then lining up the two stamps will be easier. Finally, stand up over your work and look down vertically. Using the clear block will help you line up, but looking right down vertically over the block rather than sitting and stamping from an angle will give you more accuracy. I then finished my flowers ff with a little white gel pen highlighting and some green shimmer trim. Leaves have been done with pear ink in the same method. Once done I also rubbed the back of them to make them curl up a little for more dimension. The base paper, photo mounts and zip strip is all from the new paper collection called Penelope! Yes it is very pretty! (see more below) To complete my bouquets I stamped the foliage stamp three times (Secondary and tertiary stamping overlaps) behind where I wanted to sit the flowers. I adhered some flat and popped some up with 3D Foam Tape.

Finally,,,,there are no mistakes! I did miss a little on some of mine. This little white space could be seen as artistically deliberate highlighting of some petals. OR, you can grab a dauber and just daub a little ink over that foo foo. If it is really distressing you make sure that but is tucked under the another flower 😉

This exclusive S1601 Beloved Bouquet stamp is only available during January. It can be yours for just $7.50 with a qualifying order of $75 or for $27.00 if ordered separately from your CTMH consultant.
